A smile

We must dress and prepare for waist deep river crossings, intense sun, intense cold wind and heavy rain. The weather in the mountains changes rapidly - we must prepare for all conditions.

You will wear

Stout footwear
Recommend boots, sneakers are a minimum.

Socks
Wear proper walking socks (the best are of smooth wool, mid calf length). We recommend gaiters/puttees to keep gravel out of boots.

Trousers
Jeans are not acceptable. You will get wet when crossing the rivers. Wet jeans are cold, uncomfortable and remain wet. Wear shorts. Carry/wear leggings or longs.

Tops
Need to be comfortable and protect you from the sun. Assume that it will be hot and cold.

Hat
Sun hat, also warm hat in pack.

Protection cream
Sun, wind.

We recommend that you bring proper boots, polypropylene or wools garments and quality waterproof and windproof parka and leggings. We have a limited supply of equipment and clothing available for hire/sale.
